Grounded was also available through Steam Early Access. Updated through user feedback during development, it is the first Game Preview title available through Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass. It first became available through early access on July 28th 2020 for Xbox One and Windows digitally via Game Preview with Xbox Game Pass. While exploring, some special locations will yield new tool or base building recipes for endless playthrough possibilities. Players also craft armor to defend against a host of deadly creatures. Players must gather resources, craft tools, and build bases while searching for food and water to stay alive. In the dangerous landscape, players work to progress through story-based quests and explore the farthest reaches of the backyard, its aggressive creatures, and its unique biomes. The player must survive in the micro-world of a suburban backyard alone or with up to 3 additional players.
In Grounded, the player character (Max, Willow, Pete, or Hoops) has been mysteriously shrunk to the size of an ant. It was released for Xbox and PC on September 27, 2022. It was first revealed at X019 in London and entered early access on July 28th, 2020.
Grounded is a first and third-person cooperative survival game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and Xbox Game Studios.
